Coffee Connection

Coffee Connection is a FREE fortnightly wellbeing peer support group held at the EDAS Learning Centre, offering a mental health support network for adults to help combat social isolation and promote mental wellbeing and self-care in our local community. A project in partnership with Poole Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).

Coffee Connection aims to benefit local people who are experiencing problems with mental health, physical health, addictions, and daily wellbeing, in partnership with our local Community Mental Health Team. We want to combat social isolation and help participants build a support network in which they feel comfortable, motivated, and empowered.

Coffee Connection looks to focus on reducing stigma towards seeking help with mental health and addiction, developing a sense of community integration, building strength in the local community, and enabling participants to access other support currently offered, including free training programmes and volunteering.

How Are Sessions Held?

Sessions are a talk and share supper group meeting, hosted by qualified EDAS therapists who will provide expert input, with discussions and a range of self-care activities.

EDAS therapists specialise in helping people make plans and act on them to further their recovery. Together, by setting SMART goals, participants can get the necessary help to reflect, respond to setbacks positively and break their day-to-day routine down into manageable, achievable tasks. Like this, we seek to provide individuals, families, and the community as a whole with long-lasting tools that support and maintain holistic recovery and wellness.

Our team offers the expertise from peer support workers who have experienced mental health difficulties themselves and so have knowledge and empathy about recovery to share with the group.

Meetings include a light supper and a drink.
