EDAS are looking to strengthen the Board of Trustees and wish to attract additional Board members with a wide range of skills, knowledge and expertise to help achieve our mission of making our local area across Dorset a healthier place for vulnerable people.
Being passionate about supporting people with addiction issues and/or experiencing mental distress is important. To compliment this passion, we are seeking individuals operating at a senior level, ideally with experience of successful partnership working, who can take a lead in driving forward participation and widening access for our service users. Applicants with specific knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following sectors are particularly encouraged to apply, i.e. elite performance, employment law, health, crime, social inclusion, education, policy implementation, mental health and voluntary sector work.
The Board supports the Chief Executive and gives strategic direction for the overall work of EDAS, but not day-to-day detail. Board members also act as ‘champions’ within their various spheres of influence, opening doors and creating links.
Board meetings are held quarterly and the Board members play a pivotal role in the development of EDAS and for establishing the framework for the organisation’s long term strategy.
