Thanks A Million

Thank you for your support …

Christmas is known as 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year' but for many, it’s filled with anxiety and sadness. Thanks to you we've provided extras this Christmas for EDAS Poole Clients. And you've helped us fight for better services, for an end to stigma and to ensure that everyone with a Substance Misuse problem is treated with respect. In addition the gifts and money helped provided a little extra for EDAS service users, as many are alone this time of year.

Poole Rotary Club

Kindly donated 30 Christmas hampers which were distributed to some of EDAS service users, which brought a little extra for those in need. One testimony stated; “When I was younger I loved Christmas. It was a time for spending with family and friends, going to parties and, of course, presents. As I started to drink more it was losing its fun and I began to dread it and drunk in isolation due to shame. Now I am slowly regaining my life back, this hamper has provided me with those little extras, allowing me to invite others round for a tea, coffee and a mince pie. Thank you’’. Poole Rotary is also YADAS’, (EDAS Young People Service in Poole) nominated charity and presented them with a £150.00 cheque.

Coty (Proctor and Gamble)

P&G in late 2016 was to transfer to Coty and through all of the changes the local Wallisdown branch remained true to its values (creating ideas that touch and improve lives) and this year EDAS was one of the lucky charities to be nominated for their Christmas donations. Emma Portnail gave EDAS £610:00. She explained how the scheme works. The money raised from P&G staff from the sale of their goods is collected and the staff nominate local charities (six are chosen) to donate the proceeds to.   This year an anonymous person put EDAS forward and said, ‘’EDAS changes people’s lives through their treatment and training. EDAS is a small charity that help people with substance misuse problems they do amazing work in Poole and they are much underfunded’’.  We warmly wish enormous thanks for that person for thinking of EDAS.

St Michael’s & St John’s Church

A big thank you to these two churches for their kind donations of toys, toiletries and books which we have distributed to our young people and adult service users in Poole.  They were all greatly received and enabled some parents to be able to offer a gift to their child this Christmas.
