Second Round of Mentors completed with success all round!

Date Added: 08/07/2013

Graduation of our second cohort of trainee mentors took place on the 6th June 2013 and a presentation and luncheon was held at EDAS Training room where approximately 40 people were in attendance.

The luncheon was a great success and many tears of joy were shed by those present who had witnessed over a period of many months the growth, progression, achievement and empowerment of the newly graduated Mentors. The graduation was not only blessed by our newly qualified mentors and friends but also our partners from Poole General Hospital, Poole Drug Action Team, EDAS staff and Trustee and previous cohort of mentors.

We were also given an insightful and emotional speech by Graeme White of Poole General Hospital, Alcohol Community Liaison Lead, on how his patients have been helped by the Mentoring service both on the wards and in the community. Lyn Clarke from The EDAS Board of Trustees, Kevin Jones (Poole EDAS Clinical Lead) and Marko Radulovic (Mentoring Trainer) also gave speeches on the impact that our Mentors and the Mentoring programme are having in the Poole Community and how it is gaining a positive reputation for helping those suffering from Alcohol & Drug Misuse.

We would also like to give special thanks to Tony Fox and Becky Pitfield. Tony has already completed his Mentoring qualification and was able to not only help Marko deliver the training but offer up his own experience of being on the course, this we believe, proved invaluable in the Learning experience. Also a special thanks to Becky who kindly baked and iced the graduation cake that was consumed with great vigour on the day. (Pictured, before Marko got his hands on it!)

Again, many thanks to all those that attended and those that played a part in making this day a special one for our Mentors.
