Riding out to keep people off of drugs!

Date Added: 03/10/2013

The bike ride was launched by the Mayor of Poole, Cllr Phil Eades, on Tuesday 2nd September and  23 young men and women cycled to Burley in the New Forest to raise funds for our YADAS  (Young Adults  Drug Alcohol Service) project which works with young people aged 10-19 years who have issues with their own or someone elses substance misuse.

They were hoping to fund a £2,500 drug and overdose self-esteem package, which will be delivered to young people and adults, so they can better understand addiction and help those involved with it.

Lindsay Lyall, one of the organisers of the event, which started at Verity skatepark, in Canford Heath, stated that It was a fantastic day, everyone had a great time, and she was amazed by what everyone had acheived.

Mayor of Poole, Cllr Phil Eades has chosen YADAS as one of his two charities that he will support during his mayoral year.

For more information on YADAS, or to donate to the project  call 01202 741414 or go to www.edasuk.org
