Imagination Meditation for Relaxation

Your brain is pretty remarkable, it has the power to turn thoughts into actions and emotions. You laugh when you think back on a happy memory, you salivate at the thought of your favourite meal, you may even start to smell it in the air.

  • Sit for a moment. Think of a relaxing place. Maybe somewhere you've been before, or somewhere made up entirely. A warm beach, a delicious dinner, on top of a hill or mountain perhaps.
 
  • Use all your senses to create the scene. What do you see? What do you smell? What can you taste?
 
  • Feel the warmth of the sun or the cool breeze on your mountain top. Focus on the details and enjoy your safe place relaxation.
 
  • Try doing this for a couple of minutes a day. Or whenever you need a quick escape from a situation.
